Content & Editorial Policy

This page describes how we decide which games to list, how we produce the written content on the site, and how we keep advertising influence out of editorial decisions. Transparency about these processes is important to us, and it should be relevant to anyone who wants to understand why a particular game is or is not listed.

How games are sourced

We do not develop or host games ourselves. All games listed on H5 Games Hub come from licensed HTML5 game distribution networks — currently GameMonetize and GamePix. Those networks aggregate games from independent developers and publishers worldwide and make them available to directory sites under standard distribution agreements. A game being available on one of those networks is the starting point for consideration, not a guarantee of listing.

Content screening

Before a game is listed, a member of the editorial team reviews it. The review checks that:

• The game functions correctly in a standard desktop and mobile browser.
• The game's content meets our family-friendly standard.
• The game fits into one of our established categories and can be described accurately.

We do not list games that fall into any of the following categories, regardless of their availability on the distribution networks:

• Real-money gambling — any game that involves wagering real money or that is designed to simulate casino mechanics in a way that could normalise gambling behaviour in minors.
• Explicit sexual content — any game containing nudity, sexually suggestive imagery, or sexual themes.
• Graphic gore or gratuitous violence — games where graphic depictions of injury, death, or body horror are a central feature, as distinct from cartoon or mild action-game violence that is standard in family-friendly games.
• Hate content — any game whose content promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristic.
• Content promoting self-harm or illegal activity — games that present self-harm, suicide, drug use, or criminal activity in an instructional, glamorising, or promotional way.

This list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to decline to list any game that we judge to be inconsistent with the spirit of a family-friendly directory, even if it does not clearly fall into one of the categories above.

How written content is produced

Every game on the site has a description, a control guide, and category tags. All of this is written in-house.

Game descriptions are written by a member of the editorial team after playing the game directly. Descriptions summarise the game's premise, genre, core mechanics, and approximate difficulty. We do not copy press-release language from developers or distribution networks.

Control guides are produced from hands-on play, supplemented where useful by any control instructions the developer has built into the game itself. We note if a game has controls that differ between desktop and mobile.

Category guides — the pages introducing genres such as puzzle games, racing games, or platformers — are written by the editorial team to help new visitors understand what to expect from a genre and to highlight a selection of representative games. These are editorial choices, not sponsored placements.

Blog articles and longer editorial pieces are written by the editorial team on topics relevant to browser gaming. They are not written on behalf of developers or advertisers.

Corrections

We update descriptions when we discover they are inaccurate — for example, when a game has been updated by its developer in a way that changes the controls or core mechanics. If you spot an inaccuracy in a description, please email us at contact@your-domain.com with the game name and the detail that needs correcting. We read every correction report and update the relevant page promptly.

Broken game detection and removal

We check for non-functioning games both through automated monitoring and through user reports. When a game stops loading or functioning correctly, we attempt to determine whether the issue is temporary (a network fault at the distributor) or permanent (the game has been removed from the distribution network). We remove listings for games that have been permanently withdrawn or that remain broken for an extended period.

Review cadence

All listed games are reviewed by the editorial team before initial publication. We do not have a fixed schedule for re-reviewing every game, but we actively monitor for user reports, check listings when a game update is detected, and conduct periodic audits of categories to ensure listed games remain appropriate and functional.

Editorial independence from advertising

The site earns revenue from advertising placed through Google AdSense. Advertising revenue does not influence which games are listed, how they are described, or how they are ranked or featured. No game is given preferential placement in exchange for payment, and no game is excluded from listing because of an advertiser relationship or the absence of one. Our game listings and descriptions represent the editorial team's independent assessment, full stop.

Advertising appears in designated spaces on the page layout. Advertisements are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. We do not publish sponsored game descriptions or paid editorial content of any kind.
